As we arrived at Treoes to set up for the competition the heavens opened and the rain started. However this did not seem to deter the determined band of anglers who had already started to arrive. The draw took place at 9 am and in the rain competitors started to set up there gear and prepared to stick it out for the day even though it meant a soaking.

I've done the rounds today and taken some photo's, especially of Gribbles which looks great with the snow, Pysgodlyn Mawr has had more rubbish thrown on it as well as footprints going across the ice to the far side of the lake, it seems some people will never learn. All the club lakes still have a layer of ice on them today but with warmer weather forecast things will hopefully look better for some new year fishing.

With the freeze still upon us the club lakes are still frozen except for Gribbles Covert where two anglers had braved the weather. The River Wye at Biblins is reported to have an ice build up in the margins so please be careful out there. Thank again this week to Bailiff and GAC Roving Reporter Steve Hooper for checking the condition of the lakes and taking some great photo's on his rounds.

Thanks to club bailiff Steve Hooper for taking some great photo's of the lakes, both Pysgodlyn Mawr, Treoes, Barry, St-Y-Nyll (Top Pond) and Lantrithyd lakes have a coating of ice but Gribles Covert is still fishable if your brave enought to sit in the cold !.
