Work is progressing on Carols Pond, with the outline of the paths connecting the completed platforms now almost ready for the paths to be laid. 200 tonne of stone has been delivered to start the paths around the pond and the disabled platforms.
The plant machinery has arrived, so Carols pond will remain closed next week while the work is being completed, which should be about another 5 or 6 days before work starts on Sues Pond.

The Club would like to thank the members that turned out at Treoes Pond on Sunday 1st Feb. Despite bitterly cold winds, a significant amount of work was accomplished. A big thanks to Auntie Mo and Amanda for turning out to cook us all bacon, egg and sausage rolls and kept us all going with large amounts of fresh tea and coffee.
The Islands have been left for over 10 years to grow, so it was time that they were pruned back and tidied. A few trees from around the banks were also pruned to allow for new growth. Work will now start on the other island ready for when the pond reopens in 4 weeks.

The Club would like to thank the Club Members and Bailiffs that turned out on Saturday 19th July to clean up the Gabalfa Stretch of the Taff in conjunction with Welsh Water. Removed from the river were 12 Motor Cycles, 15 Push Bikes, 12 Shopping Trolleys and various items of scrap metal. This was the first clean up work party we have organised with the help of Welsh Water, which due to its success, will be ongoing with a second clean up Work Party in August along the Radyr Stretch. Details to follow.
Any Club member that can put a day aside to help out will be appreciated. The Environment Agency are also running a clean up campaign and will be cleaning the banks up on 30th July along with Welsh Water.

As you will see from the photo's, the toilet unit base has been set level ready for the arrival of the unit on Friday this will be a disabled toilet and a single cubicle for use by all club members, there are now 5 disabled friendly fishing platforms. A representative from the EA attended to have a look and a chat and was more than impressed with the work done.
