It has been discovered that Larch trees in several forests in South Wales are dying as a result of being attacked by the fungus Phytophthora ramorum. Trees in Hensol forest are infected. Some of the symptoms of this disease are blackened and "bleeding wounds" on trunks and branches and dead trees. This is a plant disease and does not affect people or animals.

The Club over the past few years has tried to ensure that it caters for as many aspects of competition fishing as possible. Well, the one Competition we as yet have not organized is a mixed pairs competition.

Jon Taylor, our Head Coach came up with the idea, which we think will appeal to many of our members.

Would all members of the clubs Night Fishing Group please be aware that prior to night fishing any Club water, we would ask that you ring the Clubs Night Group Co-ordinator, Colin Farnham on 07813 001869, to advise as to where you intend night fishing and when.

This is not meant to "spy" on anyone, it just gives the Club an idea of who is fishing at night and where, so that Club bailiffs are aware if there is anyone on a certain water at a certain time.

Due to the popularity of our Senior Competition fixtures, would any senior member who would like to take part in any of the Senior Competitions advertised, please ensure that they ring Chris Murphy on 01443 830884 to book a place at least 48 hours prior to the fixture, as anyone who turns up at a Competition without previously booking on, will not be permitted to take part.
